Softball Recap: Pueblo South Falls to Falcon in First Game of Season

Pueblo South kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Falcon Falcons by a score of 7-6. The Colts were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Madisyn Gilliland was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with five stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Amanda Isla-Perez, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pueblo South will challenge Cheyenne Mountain at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Falcon, they will take on Wheat Ridge at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
