Basketball Recap: Athena Pastran's Big Game Can't Quite Lead West over Tracy

West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 44-40 heartbreaker at the hands of the Tracy Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolfpack of the 47-36 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

West lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Athena Pastran, who posted 16 points and eight boards. That's the most points Pastran has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Cardoso, who had six points.

West's loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Tracy, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 9-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West will square off against Kimball at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Kimball is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.9 points per game this season. Tracy has already played their next contest (against Bear Creek), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
