Softball Recap: Burke County Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last five matches, Burke County finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They lost 14-2 to the Edmund Burke Academy Spartans. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Burke County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Telaia Bennett, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Burke County now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Edmund Burke Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

Coming up, Burke County is taking a road trip to take on Academy of Richmond County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Edmund Burke Academy, they will be playing at home against Trinity Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
