Basketball Game Preview: Irvington Vikings vs. Mission San Jose Warriors

Irvington hasn't had much luck against Mission San Jose recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Irvington Vikings will take on the Mission San Jose Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Irvington is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Wednesday. They took a 44-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of James Logan. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 893rd, while the Colts are ranked 350th).

Meanwhile, Mission San Jose was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 37-33 heartbreaker at the hands of American.

Mission San Jose's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Irvington, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-19.

Irvington lost to Mission San Jose on the road by a decisive 40-26 margin when the teams last played back in January. Can Irvington avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
