Soccer Game Preview: Hawkinsville vs. Montgomery County

The Hawkinsville Red Devils will head out to take on the Montgomery County Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hawkinsville's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Hawkinsville lost 8-1 to Georgia Military College on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Hawkinsville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 445th, while Georgia Military College are ranked 128th).

Hawkinsville's goal came courtesy of Martin Mcdonald, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Montgomery County was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They came up short against Dooly County, falling 3-0. Montgomery County haven't had much luck with Dooly County recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Hawkinsville's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Montgomery County, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.

Hawkinsville couldn't quite get it done against Montgomery County when the teams last played back in March as they fell 3-1. Can the Red Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
