Baseball Game Preview: Oberlin Phoenix vs. Brooklyn Hurricanes

Oberlin hasn't had much luck against Brooklyn recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Phoenix will look to defend their home field against the Hurricanes at 5:00 p.m. Oberlin has given up an average of 12.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Oberlin lost 23-6 to Elyria on Saturday.

Oberlin saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Green, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another was Ja'Kouri Walden, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

John Hay hit Brooklyn with a five-run third inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Hurricanes fell 6-2 to the Hornets.

Oberlin's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Brooklyn, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-15.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Oberlin has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Brooklyn struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Oberlin was able to grind out a solid win over Brooklyn when the teams last played last Friday, winning 9-5. Will the Phoenix repeat their success, or do the Hurricanes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
