Rock Canyon dropped down to 15-9 on Saturday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins. They lost  10-0 to the Valor Christian Eagles. Having soared to a lofty 14  runs in the game before, the Jaguars' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
 Rock Canyon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Dakota Dugan, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with one  double.
As for Valor Christian, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.3 runs over those games.
On Valor Christian's side,  Elizabeth Canales tossed a big game,   not allowing a single  earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Canales has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Kendall Ferguson, who  got on base  in all three of her plate appearances with one  home run and four  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Abigail Watson, who  went 3-for-4 with two  runs and two  doubles.
As of now, neither Rock Canyon nor Valor Christian have any future games scheduled.
