After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Montgomery County, Nicholas County was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Everything went their way against the Berea Pirates as they made off with a 13-3 win. The Bluejackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 games by six runs or more this season.
Avery Sibert made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.
In other batting news, Bentley Crump was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Nicholas County is undefeated when Crump posts two or more stolen bases, but 15-20 otherwise.
