Recap: Mountain View Spartans vs. Gunn Titans
In what's become a running theme this season, the Mountain View Spartans gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 61-30 victory over Gunn on the road. Given Mountain View's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 303rd, while Gunn is ranked 804th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Alana Hernandez continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 4 assists. She hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Mikayla Kim was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds.
Mountain View is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. As for Gunn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-14.
Mountain View will be playing at home against Cupertino at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mountain View is coming into the game with nine straight wins at home, meaning Cupertino will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Gunn, they will head out on the road to challenge Saratoga at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gunn is facing Saratoga at the right time seeing as Saratoga is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
