Basketball Recap: California City Takes a Loss

California City lost against Bishop Union back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The California City Ravens were beaten by the Bishop Union Broncos 49-13. While losing is never fun, the Ravens can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1121st, while the Broncos are ranked 351st).

Bishop Union found their leader in sophomore Tannyr Ludwick, who went 9 for 16 en route to 18 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Kristin Allen, who posted eight points along with six assists and three steals.

California City has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Bishop Union, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2.

California City will challenge Kern Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Kern Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.1 points per game this season. As for Bishop Union, they will face off against Boron at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bishop Union's defense has only allowed 25.8 points per game this season, so Boron's offense will have their work cut out for them.
