Basketball Recap: Panorama Takes a Loss

Panorama played a tough matchup on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 72-29 loss at the hands of the Golden Valley Grizzlies. The Pythons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-16.

Panorama's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was VALERY QUEZADA, who posted ten points and seven rebounds. ROMINA DIAZ was another key player, putting up four points and seven rebounds.

Golden Valley was led to victory by Krysta Ezenwa and Janice Orantes. Ezenwa dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 boards, while Orantes went 8 of 18 on her way to 18 points and five rebounds. Orantes continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaia Bryant, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 10 points.

Panorama's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Golden Valley, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-9.

Panorama will challenge University Pathways Medical Magnet at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Panorama is facing University Pathways Medical Magnet at the right time seeing as University Pathways Medical Magnet is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Golden Valley, they will face off against Saugus at 5:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
