Baseball Recap: Victory Baptist Takes a Loss

Victory Baptist was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 9-4 to the Hearts Academy Panthers.

Asher Alexander put in work no matter where he played. He tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and seven unearned) runs off six hits. Alexander was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Alexander is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Alexander wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Trent Milligan, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Victory Baptist's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Hearts Academy, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

Victory Baptist will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Peoples Baptist Academy at 6:30 p.m. on March 25th. As for Hearts Academy, they will face off against Pinecrest Academy at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
