Gompers Prep Academy took a 39-25 bruising from Liberty Charter. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Gompers Prep Academy in their matchups with Liberty Charter: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Gompers Prep Academy still got an impressive performance from Kamariyah Mccollough, who scored 16 points. Mccollough scored a full 64% of Gompers Prep Academy's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Gompers Prep Academy's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.7 points per game. As for Liberty Charter, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gompers Prep Academy will challenge Horizon Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Liberty Charter, they will head out on the road to face off against Hilltop at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
