Basketball Recap: West Valley Makes It 14 in a Row at Home

There's no place like home for West Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They snuck past the Lassen Grizzlies with a 46-41 win on Friday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 63-48 back in January.

Emily Huddleston was the offensive standout of the game as she went 6 of 12 en route to 15 points. Rainessa Matthews was another key player, going 5 for 9 on her way to 11 points.

When it comes to explaining why Lassen lost, don't look at Brook Medovitch. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. That's the most points Medovitch has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Nellie Ratcliff, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Lassen, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.
