Basketball Game Preview: Kennedy Thunderbirds vs. Taft Wildcats

Kennedy is 0-10 against Taft since December of 2018 but things could change on Wednesday. Having just played yesterday, the Kennedy Thunderbirds will head out on the road to face off against the Taft Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Kennedy is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game on Tuesday. They fell 42-32 to Wasco.

Meanwhile, Taft unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against Shafter, falling 55-30. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 821st, while the Generals are ranked 230th).

Taft's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-10. As for Kennedy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-15.

Kennedy was dealt a bruising 55-25 loss at the hands of Taft when the teams last played last Tuesday. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Kennedy was down 30-9.
