Baseball Recap: Franklin Towne Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

It's playoff time, and Franklin Towne had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against Mariana Bracetti Academy on Thursday as they made off with a 9-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with Mariana Bracetti Academy: they've now won four in a row.

Shane Sliwinski looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over four innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Jayden Ocasio and Carlo Quattrone did most of the damage at the plate: Ocasio went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Quattrone got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaedyn Sanchez, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Franklin Towne pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Mariana Bracetti Academy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-4-1.

Coming up, Franklin Towne will venture away from home to face off against Father Judge at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Mariana Bracetti Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
