Basketball Recap: Palm Springs Skates Past Indio with Ease

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Palm Springs's strategy against Indio on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Indians blew the Rajahs out of the water with a 56-25 final score. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Rajahs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Leading Palm Springs to victory were Shayla Bates and Miley Flores. Bates dropped a double-double with 21 points and 15 boards, while Flores posted 22 points and three steals. Bates' big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bethenny Rivera, who put up seven points in addition to ten rebounds and three steals.

Palm Springs' record is now 6-1. As for Indio, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Coincidentally, Palm Springs and Indio will both be playing Marymount the next time they take the court. The Indians will host the Sailors at 5:45 p.m. on Friday, while the Rajahs will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
