Softball Recap: Denver East Comes Up Short

Denver East was the 27-21 winner over Rangeview when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Angels fell 8-4 to the Raiders on Tuesday. The contest marked the Angels' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Denver East saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grace Faris, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run. Alyssa Montoya was another, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

Denver East's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-4. As for Rangeview, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-8-1.

Looking ahead, Denver East will welcome Douglas County at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Angels are facing the Huskies at the right time seeing as the Huskies are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Rangeview, they will head out on the road to take on Smoky Hill at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Buffaloes have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season.
