Football Recap: Annapolis Comes Up Short at Home Against Severn School + How To Watch

Annapolis unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost to the Severn School Admirals at home by a 28-14 margin on Friday.

Annapolis lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Zyhir Neal, who rushed for 70 yards on only nine carries, and also threw for 68 yards and one touchdown.

Severn School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jack Fowler led the charge by picking up 141 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Fowler showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 53 yards. Severn School also got a significant boost from Jules Floyd, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 85 yards.

The win got Severn School back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Annapolis is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will take on Southern at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Severn School, they will head out to face off against St. John's Catholic Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
