Baseball Recap: Spalding Comes Up Short

Spalding was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 15-0 to the Mary Persons Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Jaguars of the 16-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2021.

Spalding saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dashan Gilbert, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Spalding's record now sits at 8-13. As for Mary Persons, they pushed their record up to 8-13 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

While Spalding had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
