Basketball Recap: Carpinteria skates past Fillmore with ease

Even though the Carpinteria Warriors have not done well against the Fillmore Flashes recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Carpinteria blew past the Flashes 45-14 at home. That's another feather in the cap for Carpinteria, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Carpinteria's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jamaica Cook led the charge by scoring 20 points along with six rebounds and two steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Cook has scored at least a third of Carpinteria's points. Another player making a difference was Armarisse Camargo, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Carpinteria is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Fillmore, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.

Carpinteria does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Fillmore also has no future games currently scheduled.
