Basketball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Chester's 11th in Last 12 Outings

Chester won the last time they faced Renaissance Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Chester Clippers enjoyed a cozy 46-29 victory over the Renaissance Academy Knights. Winning may never get old, but the Clippers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chester to victory, but perhaps none more so than Imani Dorsey, who went 7 of 14 on her way to 21 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Dorsey's evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja?Mya Muhammad, who went 5 for 12 en route to 12 points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

Chester smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, Renaissance Academy had strong showings from Aniyah Jones, who posted eight points and nine rebounds, and Kasira Barber, who earned four points along with nine boards and three blocks. Jones is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played.

Chester is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.4 points per game. As for Renaissance Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-11.

Chester won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Upper Moreland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Upper Moreland: they have been struggling with six straight losses at home, while Chester has snatched up seven consecutive wins on the road. Renaissance Academy has already played their next contest (against Jenkintown), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
