Liberty hadn't done well against Sherman recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Raiders came out on top against the Tide by a score of 6-1. This was a revenge game for the Raiders: when they faced off against the Tide back in March, they had to take a 9-3 defeat.

Maddie Cox spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits.

On the hitting side, Allie Bowles and Katie Mullens did most of the damage at the plate: Bowles went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double, while Mullens went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits Mullens has posted since back in March.

Liberty's victory bumped their record up to 7-17. As for Sherman, their loss dropped their record down to 16-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Liberty will venture away from home to face off against Wyoming East at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sherman, they will head out to take on Man at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hillbillies' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Tide's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
