Basketball Recap: Faith Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Faith Christian Academy and Renaissance Academy squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Faith Christian Academy had to settle for second. They lost 56-34 to the Renaissance Academy Knights. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Renaissance Academy was led to victory by Dallis Stewart and Brilan Biesecker. Stewart dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards, while Biesecker went 6-for-11 en route to 16 points. Stewart also grabbed five steals, which is notable because Renaissance Academy is 3-1 when she posts at least five steals, but 9-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Aniyah Jones, who posted 11 points.

Faith Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Renaissance Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-11 record this season.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Faith Christian Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Renaissance Academy at 6:00 a.m. As for Renaissance Academy, they will square off against Delaware County Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
