Basketball Recap: Parkside Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Daiquan Smith and Johnie Griffin III

Parkside made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Maret, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Eagles fell just short of the Frogs by a score of 51-48 on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Frogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Johnie Griffin III and Daiquan Smith certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Griffin III posted 19 points, while Smith had 18 points. Griffin III's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 19 points.

Parkside now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Maret, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Parkside will venture away from home to face off against St. Albans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Maret, they have already played their next matchup, a 48-35 victory against Banneker on the 11th.
