Baseball Recap: Rockford Rockets vs. Dassel-Cokato Chargers
Rockford extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 6-15. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Dassel-Cokato Chargers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 10-3 loss on May 4th.
Alex Johnson made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.
As for Dassel-Cokato, their record is now 13-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since April 11th.
On Dassel-Cokato's side, Eli Dahlheimer looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Dahlheimer has become a key player for the Chargers: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 10-11 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Parker Haataja was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
