Sequoyah took a three-goal defeat the last time they faced off against Riverwood, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Chiefs narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Raiders 2-1. This was payback for Sequoyah, who suffered a 3-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Ian Sweazy and Caleb Mcclure scored both of Sequoyah's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Sequoyah pushed their record up to 5-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Riverwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Sequoyah is set to square off against their familiar foe Woodstock at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Riverwood will challenge rival Lassiter at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
