Basketball Recap: Andrea Lamorena's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Don Lugo over Garey

Don Lugo was the 26-22 winner over Garey when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Don Lugo Conquistadores took a hard 43-27 fall against the Garey Vikings on Wednesday.

Don Lugo lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Andrea Lamorena, who posted six points.

Don Lugo's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-8. As for Garey, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Don Lugo will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Compton Early College at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Don Lugo is facing Compton Early College at the right time seeing as Compton Early College is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Garey will take on Montclair in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
