Softball Recap: Seckinger Continues Road Dominance on Monday

Seckinger extended their postseason success on Monday against Effingham County. They walked away with a 10-6 victory over the Rebels. For the Jaguars, this counts as revenge for the 6-1 win the Rebels walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Annmarie Nagy spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned runs on eight hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Milan Torres, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. That's the most runs she has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Ma'At Willis, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Seckinger pushed their record up to 19-9 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Effingham County, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 25-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Rebels beat Seckinger by a score of 6-3 later that day.
