Baseball Recap: Treutlen Find Success

Treutlen came out on top against Northside on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Vikings walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Eagles. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Jack Walker made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Acie Dickens and DJ Steptoe did most of the damage at the plate: Dickens went 2-for-4 with two runs and two doubles, while Steptoe went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave Steptoe a new career-high.

Treutlen's record is now 2-0. As for Northside, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Treutlen will square off against Wilkinson County at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Northside, they will take on Warner Robins at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
