Volleyball Recap: Pieper Starts off Right with Win over Floresville

Pieper had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the Floresville Tigers/Jaguars with a sharp 3-0 victory on Tuesday. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers/Jaguars, too.

Pieper was especially dominant in the second set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-13, 25-16.

Leading Pieper to victory were Cayleigh Monson and Addi Reus. Monson had 16 digs, while Reus had 12 digs and two aces. Those 16 digs gave Monson a new career-high.

Despite the loss, Floresville saw an underclassman step up: freshman Eliyah Flores had 16 digs and two assists.

Pieper didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Taylor on the 14th. As for Floresville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Shadow Creek on the 14th.
