Basketball Recap: Riverdale Takes a Loss

Riverdale played a tough matchup on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Strathmore Spartans, falling 58-27. The Cowboys were probably out for revenge after losing 68-22 to them when the teams met back in November of 2017, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Riverdale lost, don't look at Karen Ayala. Despite the final result, she posted 14 points.

Riverdale has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season. As for Strathmore, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-8.

Riverdale didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 75-18 loss against Sierra on the 4th. As for Strathmore, they will square off against Woodlake at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing isn't great for Woodlake: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Strathmore has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road.
