Baseball Game Preview: St. John's Bluejays vs. Mohawk Warriors

The St. John's Bluejays will square off against the Mohawk Warriors at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. John's will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

St. John's is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They blew past Jefferson 17-3. The Bluejays might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Cam Elwer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple.

In other batting news, Drake Fittro was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Andrew Elwer was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Mohawk owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past Plymouth 1-0. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Big Red: they've now won five in a row.

St. John's record now sits at 16-7. As for Mohawk, their record is now 13-15.
