LaFayette proved they can win big on Monday (they won by nine) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Calhoun Yellow Jackets, sneaking past 2-1. The Ramblers haven't had any issues with the Yellow Jackets recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Marlie Day spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, LaFayette saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jocelyn McCallie, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. That RBI marked the first that McCallie has brought in this season.

LaFayette hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least one batters in three consecutive games.

LaFayette's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Calhoun, they dropped their record down to 2-4 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

LaFayette will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Yellow Jackets: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
