Softball Recap: Platteview's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Platteview hadn't done well against Ashland-Greenwood recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Bluejays. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won three games by six runs or more so far this season.

Paisley Peklo made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. Peklo was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Paige Wiederholt was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Maddie Romans, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Platteview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Platteview's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-2. As for Ashland-Greenwood, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Coming up, Platteview will venture away from home to challenge Cass at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ashland-Greenwood, they will host Guardian Angels Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
