Baseball Recap: Haddam-Killingworth Comes Up Short

Haddam-Killingworth was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the North Branford Thunderbirds. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Thunderbirds earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Haddam-Killingworth's loss dropped their record down to 9-7-1. As for North Branford, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season.

Haddam-Killingworth will face off against Wheeler at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.39 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of. North Branford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
