Softball Recap: McIntosh County Academy Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for McIntosh County Academy's offense. They came up short against the Screven County Gamecocks on Tuesday, falling 15-0. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Buccaneers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

McIntosh County Academy has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-19 record this season. As for Screven County, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-10.

Looking ahead, McIntosh County Academy will square off against Treutlen at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Buccaneers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season. As for Screven County, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Burke County at 5:00 p.m.
