Soccer Game Preview: McFarland vs. Mira Monte

A feisty cat fight will be fought as the McFarland face off against the Mira Monte at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. McFarland's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

McFarland is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They never let East Bakersfield onto the board and left with a 1-0 win. That's two games straight that the Cougars have won by just one goal.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Samely Ontiveros, who's now up to six this season.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last game, Mira Monte made sure to put some goals up on the board against Kern Valley on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 6-2 margin over the Broncs.

Mira Monte's victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for McFarland, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which lines up perfectly with their 15-3 record this season.

McFarland might still be hurting after the 6-1 loss they got from Mira Monte when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can McFarland avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
