Volleyball Recap: Highlands Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Blue Ridge Early College on Thursday, Highlands came back down to earth. The Highlanders fell just short of the Swain County Maroon Devils by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Highlanders in their meetings with the Maroon Devils: they've now lost five in a row.

Highlands took Swain County into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-21, 25-21, 24-26, 15-10.

Highlands' defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Swain County, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Looking ahead, Highlands is taking a road trip to square off against Summit Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Swain County, they will face off against Andrews at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Maroon Devils surely won't give up without a fight.
