Softball Recap: Alamosa Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Alamosa had lost four games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 2-1 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top against the Forge Christian Fury by a score of 9-5. The Mean Moose have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Fury, too.

Having lost for the first time this season, Forge Christian fell to 2-1. The loss put an end to their undefeated start to the season.

For Forge Christian's part, Julianna Alfaro was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and five unearned) runs off eight hits. Alfaro was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Alfaro is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

Alfaro wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Vivian Stults, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Alamosa didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 18-2 win against Burlington on the 23rd. As for Forge Christian, they have also already played their next matchup, a 12-2 victory against Valley on the 23rd.
