Baseball Recap: Hilltop Comes Up Short

Hilltop and Mater Dei Catholic squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Hilltop had to settle for second. They came up short against the Crusaders, falling 13-4. The Lancers haven't had much luck with the Crusaders recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Hilltop saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sebastian Luevano, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. The Lancers are 6-1 when Luevano posts two or more runs, but 6-16 otherwise.

Hilltop's defeat dropped their record down to 12-17. As for Mater Dei Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 16-11.

Hilltop does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mater Dei Catholic, they will head out to challenge Otay Ranch at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
