A Season-Best Effort from Kayson Mathabela Leads Bowie over Del Valle

On Friday, Bowie got the W thanks in part to Kayson Mathabela playing the best football he has all season. Mathabela rushed for 156 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

On the season, Mathabela has run in 9 touchdowns while averaging 92 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after five games last season, he was only averaging 41 rushing yards per game.

Maddox Maher Sets Career High in Rushing Yards

Dripping Springs was led to victory by Maddox Maher, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Maher threw for 155 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now passed for three or more in the last five games he's played dating back to last season.

Austin's probably not too fond of Maher given he always seems to get the better of them. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Maher saw the Maroons), he threw for 181 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.

Jack Tyndall Crosses Big Stat Threshold

Dripping Springs was led to victory by Jack Tyndall, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Tyndall rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (104.5). He is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last four games he's played dating back to last season.

Tyndall is probably looking forward to his next game, a home matchup against Bowie on Friday. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Tyndall saw the Bulldogs), he rushed for 212 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.2 yards per carry.

Elijah Clark Delivers Electric Performance Vs Akins

Elijah Clark was a major factor in Westlake's victory over Akins on Thursday. Clark was dynamite, rushing for 75 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries.

This season, Clark has run in 4 touchdowns while averaging 36 rushing yards per game.

Westlake Gets a Boost from Bartlett in 70-0 Victory

Another Westlake player making an appearance on this list is Grady Bartlett. He rushed for 37 yards and a touchdown, and also caught a touchdown.
