Softball Recap: Central Fellowship Christian Academy Lancers vs. Gatewood Gators

Central Fellowship Christian Academy extended their losing streak to six on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-9. They came up short against the Gatewood Gators, falling 9-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-5 two weeks ago.

As for Gatewood, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2. Considering they have won six matches by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Gatewood's part, Riley Roberts made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Roberts has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Lily Arthur was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Ellie McMillian, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs.
