Softball Recap: Central Fellowship Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Central Fellowship Christian Academy extended their losing streak to six on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-9. They came up short against the Gatewood Gators, falling 9-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-5 two weeks ago.

As for Gatewood, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2. Considering they have won six matches by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Gatewood's part, Riley Roberts made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Roberts has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Lily Arthur was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Ellie McMillian, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Fellowship Christian Academy will welcome Heritage at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gatewood, they will take on Briarwood Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
