Volleyball Recap: Omaha Westside Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Lincoln North Star

Omaha Westside faced Lincoln North Star in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Warriors fell 3-1 to the Navigators. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Navigators apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

While Omaha Westside ultimately came up short, they really made Lincoln North Star work, particularly in the first set. The final score came out to 26-24, 21-25, 25-20, 25-10.

Madeline Lamb paced Omaha Westside's offense, picking up 19 kills. Lamb got some help from Kherington Snider and her 28 assists.

Lincoln North Star found their leader in sophomore Marie Paneitz, who had 23 digs and seven assists. Those 23 digs set a new season-high mark for Paneitz. Elsie Schmidt also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Omaha Westside's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Lincoln North Star, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-2.

Omaha Westside didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Duchesne on the 26th. As for Lincoln North Star, they will face off against Lincoln Southwest at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
