Basketball Recap: Clovis East Snags Fourth Win in Last Five Games

Clovis East picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They came out on top against the Montgomery Aztecs by a score of 52-42.

Despite the loss, Montgomery still got an impressive performance from Paula Zumstein, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 38.1% of Montgomery's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Cary Brown, who earned 12 points along with eight boards and three steals.

Clovis East is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.6 points per game. As for Montgomery, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.

Clovis East (ranked 189th) will meet Nipomo (ranked 725th) at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Montgomery (ranked 287th) will meet Mount Miguel (ranked 1063rd) at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
