Softball Recap: Interlachen Extends Winning Streak to Three

Interlachen entered their tilt with Crescent City on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 16-2 win. The Rams have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Raiders, too.

Brooklyn Davis and Harmonie Strauser made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Davis pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Strauser pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Davis scored a run while going 1-for-3, while Strauser scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. What's more, Strauser posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in February.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Baileigh Riddley, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Maddy Vickers was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

Interlachen kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Interlachen's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 6-13. As for Crescent City, they dropped their record down to 8-11 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Interlachen will host Palatka at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crescent City has already played their next match (against Peniel Baptist Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
