Basketball Recap: San Pasqual Valley's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Two

San Pasqual Valley won the last time they faced Chino Valley and Taleah Valenzuela did her part to make sure it happened again. The Warriors put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 42-18 victory on Thursday thanks in part to Valenzuela, who posted 19 points in addition to seven steals and five boards. Valenzuela is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least four every time she's taken the court this season.

The win made it two in a row for San Pasqual Valley and bumps their season record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 32 points in those games. As for Chino Valley, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, San Pasqual Valley won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Ash Fork at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors' defense better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 65.5 points per game this season. As for Chino Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Camp Verde at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
