Baseball Game Preview: Buchholz Bobcats vs. Tocoi Creek Toros

The Buchholz Bobcats will challenge the Tocoi Creek Toros at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Buchholz 2.5, Tocoi Creek 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Buchholz is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Forest 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won seven in a row.

Wyatt Clarke looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in 20 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Buchholz's win was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was JJ Gardner, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Buchholz hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Tocoi Creek posted their closest victory since March 13th on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Bartram Trail 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Toros.

Buchholz's record now sits at 25-1. As for Tocoi Creek, their record is now 17-7.
