Basketball Recap: Chloe Flores' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Northview over Bonita

Northview extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Monday, dropping them down to 0-3. The matchup between the Vikings and the Bonita Bearcats didn't end well, with the Vikings falling 57-38. The Vikings were down 47-21 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Northview's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chloe Flores, who posted 12 points. Jayleen (Jay) Sifuentes was another key player, putting up 13 points and three steals.

As for Bonita, they now have a winning record of 3-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Bonita had a senior duo take command as Tressa Beatty shot 47% from the field en route to 19 points and five assists and Brooke Van Duyne went 6-for-13 on her way to 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Van Duyne has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Malei'A Reaves, who put up three points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Coming up, Northview will venture away from home to take on Los Altos at 5:00 p.m. on December 2. As for Bonita, they will welcome Burroughs at 7:30 p.m. on December 2.
