Baseball Recap: Russell Takes a Loss

After flying high against Great Falls on Tuesday, Russell came back down to earth. The Rustlers fell 11-7 to the Skyview Falcons on Wednesday. The Rustlers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Falcons earlier this season, when they won 6-1.

Carson Hollern made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Russell is 7-1 when Hollern posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Dalton Heggem was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Russell's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Skyview, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-12.

Russell has already played their next game, an 11-1 win against Butte on the 15th. As for Skyview, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-3 victory against Billings Senior on the 15th.
